Uh oh.  Dilemma.  *gasp*  The sky is falling!  Or rather, I think I’m falling.  I’m falling for the Toyota Prius… =8  With each passing thought, the Honda Civic Hybrid CVT is growing smaller in my sight!  “I’m shrinking!  I’m shrinking!”  Got an opinion?  Speak now or forever hold your peace!  Well, if I want the Prius, it’ll be a 6 MONTH wait, so I guess I’ll have LOTS of time to think about it…

  1. Hey kenneth!  Man, if you can wait 6 months…have you considered any of the new Hybrid SUVs hitting the market?  While normally I disdain SUVs, I’m warming up to the idea of ones that are environmentally friendly (well, relatively…).  I don’t think the horsepower is that bad on new ones either.  Hope you’re doing well!  I enjoy the stories from Meyer – brings back good memories of printer jams.  Take care dude-

  2. Is that all it gets?  1 more mpg than a standard SUV?  that lexus 330 hybrid i’m sure is bling bling but I thought I heard that it, for example, had great HP and mileage.  Maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about haha.

  3. I’m sure hybrid SUVs are getting better in gas mileage.  I’m sure the Lexus model will be pretty good, as it’s probably some derivative of the Toyota Prius technology anyway.

  4. ok, of those 2 choices (Prius and Civic), you know my suggestion (the Prius is just a better car).

If you’re going to go with SUV, don’t get Lexus (it’s unneccesarily expensive). Instead get the normal Toyota line’s Hybrid SUV (the 2005 Highlander is the model, I believe), or even the Ford 2005 Escape Hybrid. The Escape got something like 48 mpg on the streets of Manhattan when they did this publicity thing for it about a month ago. Pretty nice.

Honestly, I don’t think that you need an SUV, though (space-wise, that is), so my overall recommendation is still the Prius.
