Steph and I were trying to figure out what to do with ourselves last weekend, and so we decided to go to Wild Animal Park in San Diego. Beautiful weather, critters from the African Savannah, and barely any crowds — what more can you ask for?
There were plenty of fuzzy creatures
Sunbathing rhinos
Silly ostriches
Playful meerkats
Absolutely no tigers to speak of
Some cheetah girls…
And even giraffes that come right up to the truck looking for a snack!
But I think everyone agreed that the coolest sight BY FAR was the pride of lions. At first, we could hardly believe our eyes, and weren’t sure they were even real.
But they were real all right! Look, she moved! =]
The cubs were so cute!
Here comes trouble!
Daddy was quite a sight to behold, even behind the protective glass.
The photographers had a blast, and so did we!
Need a fun way to spend a Saturday? Try San Diego’s Wild Animal Park! =] Thanks for reading!
I couldn’t help laughing out loud this morning when I realized that our box of laser printer transparencies at work prominently indicated it was for a “small disadvantaged business”, and that was the best that we could get.
Upon further thought, I felt it was kind of screwed up that here we were at Stanford, depriving small disadvantaged businesses everywhere from a rightful purchase of these incredibly affordable 5 mil transparency film sheets for HP Color LaserJets with 50% recycled content.
Upon even further thought, I started to wonder if the label actually meant that the transparency sheets were in fact manufactured or distributed by a small disadvantaged business, and that we were in fact aiding their development by purchasing these amazingly incredible transparency sheets.
All this is basically to say I wish the labeling had been more clear. Does anybody have any other interpretation of what this means?
Woohoo, my fondue photo got featured on the front page of FoodBuzz.com today. Thanks, miniplum, for encouraging me to share my photos on this delicious site! =] Go visit them and drool over the other tasty food photos and restaurant reviews.
In case you missed it, here is my original anniversary fondue adventure at The Melting Pot in San Mateo. Thanks for reading!
Got a very interesting email this morning. Umm… honey, is there something you need to tell me?
As far as I know, it’s erroneous. Or a new demented form of phishing scheme. Or… Steph and I need to communicate more honestly and openly. =] You decide! (And oh, if you insist on getting the currently-non-existent Baby Chan a gift, I know s/he would just LOVE the LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table, the Apple Dial & Browse iPhone, or the Harmonix Sing & Jam Rock Band for the Xbox 360. Thanks!)
